Bend Headquarters

Serving on Heart of Oregon’s Board of Directors is a great way to give back to the community and advocate for the Central Oregon young people. Thank you for your interest!

We seek Board volunteers with a broad skill sets and networks from all kinds of different backgrounds, and we strive to build a diverse board that represents and advocates for the communities and cultural groups our young people are from. Two of our fifteen board seats are designated for alumni of our programs. No previous board service is required; training and mentoring for board volunteers is available.

The Board works as a group to provide oversight, long-term planning, and raise resources for the organization. Board members believe in the purpose and mission of the organization, and act responsibly and prudently as its steward. The Board speaks with one voice when a Board decision is made and will maintain confidentiality on Board discussions. Board members act in the best interest of the organization, and excuse themselves from discussions and votes where they have a conflict of interest. Heart of Oregon Corps provides Directors and Officers Insuranceto protect volunteers from personal liability. Board volunteers embody HOC’s four values: Integrity, Learning, Community, Responsibility.
